Students will create and paint traditional animation "cels," drawing inspiration from classic films like Snow White and Bambi. They will also learn the fundamentals of animation development by designing characters and utilizing “pencil test” techniques, establishing a solid foundation in animation principles and storytelling.

You will need the following materials for the course: pencils or pens, Sharpies, colored pencils, or paint for backgrounds, paper or sketchpad, transparency sheets or clear sheet protectors, and paint pens in various colors, including black. If you’re comfortable using regular paint and a brush, you may opt for that instead; however, please use thicker paint, such as acrylic. Additionally, special pens for writing on metal and plastic can also be used.

Learners will only need to use the PeerCamp Classrooms and will not be required to use any additional apps or websites.
