  • Prior experience with Scratch is required.
  • Students should have completed basic and intermediate Scratch courses.
  • A verified Scratch account with sharing ability is necessary.

  • Punctuality is key! Latecomers may need to catch up using recordings.
  • Teacher responses to parent messages may be delayed during class hours.

They'll learn essential coding concepts like loops and conditional statements, while mastering the building blocks of platformer games: movement, jumping, and enemy creation. By the end, they'll not only understand efficient coding practices and debugging techniques, but also gain the creative skills to design engaging levels and incorporate power-ups. This camp equips them with both the technical skills and creative vision to bring their own Mario-inspired game to life!

Students will need two devices. One will be used to view the class and the other device will be needed to code. The second device must have a keyboard. The course leverages Scratch itself and may use additional online resources or instructor-created materials.

Help your child prepare by ensuring prior Scratch experience and a quiet workspace. Encourage them to practice outside of class and celebrate their coding achievements!
